‘’Global club nights’’ is a networking and informative club series in collaboration with Caisa Cultural centre, Helsinki Open waves web radio and the Global music Department of Sibelius Academy, that aims to bring together all parties involved with music. With live music, seminars and workshops the events attempt to create bridges between musicians, event producers, agents, venues, and music lovers, bringing down barriers and creating a safe and creative environment of free expression. In a celebration of diversity, using the tools of intercultural collaboration and specialized knowledge, we provide the possibility of a neutral and safe space for sharing and exchange of knowledge, information, wishes and insights on the music industry in Finland, both on the part of the musician and from the business side while most importantly, sharing it with the community.
In this live concert, we are very honoured to host two incredible music groups and a wonderful artist and producer.
CON SABOR COLOMBIANO
Nicolás Castañeda Lozano – Llanera Harp / Pilar Zorro – Violin
Through its non-traditional instrumentation Llanera Harp and Violin, “Con Sabor Colombiano” exposes Colombian music in an innovative way using folkloric elements mixed with contemporary performance and composition techniques. His concert program includes a great variety of rhythms and musical styles, adaptations of well-known pieces by both composers and authors of emblematic works; inviting the listener to tour and explore the different sounds of Colombia.
Miia Laineis a Helsinki-based radio producer, DJ and arts worker. Previously working 3 years managing the community and student radio SOAS Radio in London, she moved to Helsinki in 2018 and has produced music programmes for Radio Helsinki, the Finnish national broadcaster YLE, NTS London, as well as various podcasts.
The irresistible sounds of a Latin band based in Helsinki! With talented members featuring:Leandro Roco on vocals and guitar, Milver Colmenareson drums and percussion, Daniel Olguínon vocals and a range of traditional instruments,Damiano Mariottion bass, andMarcos Barilattion electric and acoustic guitar. With their captivating blend of Latin rhythms and jazz influences, this band will transport audiences straight to the vibrant streets of South America. From the pulsating beats of salsa and cumbia to the soulful sounds of Latin rock and jazz,Pimienta Negracovers the complete spectrum of the Latin music scene.
